The 8th Annual Big Horn Festival will be held July 6, 7, and 8, 2012 at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.  Advance sales for the 3-day festival ticket and daily tickets are now available.  You can get your tickets online or at the following early bird ticket outlets in Sheridan at The WYO Theater, or in Buffalo at the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, Sports Lure, or Joy Video.

We're excited that Bluegrass Camps for Kids will return for the 2012 festival from July 4-6, 2012.  This will be a three day bluegrass and folk music program for children aged 9 to 18, organized and taught by members of the band Spring Creek.  Children can pick from a wide range of classes, including all levels of guitar, bass, banjo, fiddle, and vocals.  Campers will also experience band class with their peers, daily jams, square dances, art projects, and optional private lessons.  The Camp will conclude with a main stage performance on Friday, July 6th, at 3:15 p.m.  For 2012 camp information and application forms please visit Bluegrass Camps for Kids.

This website is the source for information about the festival, so be sure and check back here often to keep up with the latest news about all the activities, happenings, and plans.  We also update Facebook when something is updated on the website.

We have another fantastic lineup for 2012 including Houston Jones, Northern Departure, Travers Chandler & Avery County, The Jalan Crossland Band, Springcreek, and Troxel & Krieger, and more to be announced!  Check out their bios in Bands.

There will be lots of fun in 2012, including the Wyoming Mandolin and Banjo Championships, an Old Time Fiddle Contest, and a Guitar contest too, with the winners of the mandolin, banjo, and fiddle contest all winning guaranteed slots at the Walnut Valley Festival contests in Winfield, Kansas. Don't miss the Band Scramble on Saturday afternoon, and there will be a variety of workshops hosted by our performers. We'll have instrument raffles (check the link for our 2011 offers and check back in the spring as we announce our 2012 offers), food and craft vendors, a pancake breakfast, great folks, and lots of jamming. It will all add up to a super time.

Each year, the beautiful Big Horn Mountains frame the festival at the Johnson County Fairgrounds where you will enjoy the true festival experience.  Bring your tent, camper, or RV and spend the entire weekend with us and enjoy some of the best parkin' lot pickin' in the Rocky Mountains.

Visit Camping & Lodging to learn more about camping or to locate one of the area motels.  The Buffalo Wild Bunch will be back cooking up a storm and there will be many other food vendors on the festival grounds.  Check out the Venue for general information and directions to the Fairgrounds, the pancake breakfast, and more.  When available, you will be able to buy tickets online or from local outlets listed on the tickets page.

If you want to volunteer in exchange for a day or weekend ticket, fill out an online application and learn more about how you can help in the volunteer section.  Information and an application form are also available if you are interested in being a festival vendor.  Of course, our festival wouldn't happen without our generous sponsors and we encourage you to patronize their businesses or become a sponsor yourself.
