MICHAEL CLEVELAND & FLAMEKEEPER

Michael Cleveland is a seven-time winner of the International Bluegrass Music Association's Fiddle Performer of the Year award.  Mike and his talented band, Flamekeeper, present a program of tight vocal trios and duos, blistering instrumentals, and fiddle-and-banjo duets that echo the first-generation stars of bluegrass.  At the 2001 IBMA awards, Mike shared the title of Entertainer of the Year with Rhonda Vincent and the Rage.  Mike's first project as a Rounder recording artist, “Flame Keeper,” was released in February 2002 and was chosen the IBMA’s Instrumental Album of the Year.  In 2004, Mike shared the Instrumental Album of the Year award with Tom Adams for “Tom Adams and Michael Cleveland Live at the Ragged Edge,” an album of fiddle and banjo duets.  Michael and the band won the prestigious IBMA Instrumental Group of the Year for 2007, 2008, and 2009.  His credits include the 2005 GRAMMY-nominated "A Tribute to Jimmy Martin: The King of Bluegrass" and a 2003 GRAMMY winner, Jimmy Sturr's "Let's Polka 'Round."  Joining Michael are Marshall Wilborn on bass and vocals (2009 IBMA Bass Performer of the Year), Jesse Brock on mandolin and vocals (2009 IBMA Mandolin Performer of the Year), Tom Adams on guitar and vocals, and Jessie Baker on banjo and vocals.

NOTORIOUS

From Lincoln, Massachusetts, and lauded as "sparkling" and "exhilarating", Notorious musicians Eden MacAdam-Somer and Larry Unger, present a thrilling musical experience in genres that span many continents.  Eden MacAdam-Somer is one of the most exciting and versatile young violinists and singers performing today.  She has been a featured soloist with symphony and chamber orchestras, jazz and swing bands, bluegrass, DAWG and American folk groups.  Eden is also well-versed in the music of other cultures, including Irish music, Eastern-European music, and European music from the Medieval and Renaissance periods.  Larry Unger initially studied blues guitar with Etta Baker and John Jackson.  He has played with many top contra dance bands and has accompanied such fiddlers as Judy Hyman, Matt Glaser, and Lissa Schneckenburger.  Larry’s original waltzes and fiddle tunes have been played and recorded by musicians around the world and can also be heard in the Ken Burns documentary, Our National Parks.  Unger has become one of the most sought-after rhythm players in the country.  Declared “guitar genius” by Sing Out Magazine, Unger will be joined by bassist, Mark Murphy.
