Weather
While we hope the
sun is out and the temperatures are perfect, those of us living in the
area know that just about anything can happen in early July.
So our
best advice is - Be Prepared - because the show will go on.
Check
out your favorite weather website for current
weather information.
Restrooms
Permanent restrooms
with handicapped access are in the Community Building.
Additional
permanent and portable restrooms and hand washing stations will be
placed
on the grounds
Shade
There are shade trees
in the camping area and some others around the edge of the Fairgrounds,
and quite a few buildings that you can seek sun relief.
However,
much of the fairgrounds is open, so if you are concerned about too much
sun, prepare accordingly.
Festival Rules
and
Etiquette
Wristbands Wristbands
must be worn in the campground and festival areas at all times.
As the name implies, wristbands MUST be worn on your wrist. Lost,
stolen, missing, or forgotten tickets will not be replaced so don’t
lose them. Wristbands are non-refundable and non-transferable
once affixed and will not be replaced if lost or damaged.
Camping All
vehicles parked within designated camping areas must have a paid
camping sticker affixed to the windshield. Parking space is
limited within the camping areas so consider the possibility that your
vehicle may be 'locked' in the campground area as camping fills
up. If you are dry camping, consider the possibility of leaving
your vehicle in the designated parking areas. We will not tow
vehicles (unless it's missing a camping sticker) if yours is blocked in
the designated camping areas.
Alcohol Alcohol may not
be brought in to the festival area from the camping or parking
areas. Our malt beverage vendor provides a wonderful
selection of domestic and craft beer and wine coolers to be enjoyed in
the festival. You may bring your own alcoholic beverages to the
camping areas at all times. Please assist our volunteer security
staff by displaying your coolers, back packs, and other large
containers upon entering the festival area.
Obstructing Views/Consideration of Others No
umbrellas, umbrella chairs, or tents are permitted on the festival
lawn. There is plenty of shade available under the new horse barn
extensions but be mindful to not block the view of others in the shaded
areas, as well. In the festival seating area, please be
considerate of others and keep small talk to a minimum during
performances.
Dogs Our faithful friends are welcome as
long as they are on a leash in the camping areas at all times and
accompanied by their owners. Dogs and other pets, other than certified
guide dogs, are strictly prohibited in the festival area and in areas
where other livestock is present. If your dog barks, we suggest
that you contact a local kennel so everyone may enjoy the event; if
your dog becomes a nuisance, you may be asked to leave. We hope there
are no problems with this, as we would hate to have to ban all dogs in
the future.
Smoking No smoking is permitted in the
festival area. Please help us keep the area clean; picking up
your trash and cigarette butts will be greatly appreciated.
Glass No glass containers are allowed in the festival areas.
Fires Fires
are not allowed in the fairgrounds and a strict fire ban is in
place. You may use the charcoal grills within the campground and
camp stoves and lanterns. Please be sure they are extinguished if
you leave your camp area.
Livestock This is a county
fairgrounds, therefore large animals may be on the grounds. PLEASE
monitor your kids so they stay away from any livestock. With the
excitement and activity, their behavior (the animals!) may be
unpredictable, and we sure don't want anyone injured.
Valuables and Lost & Found Lock
up your instruments and valuables. Big Horn Mountain Festival,
LLC, and the Johnson County Fair Board are not responsible for lost or
stolen items. There will be a lost and found bin at the festival
hospitality booth.
Fun We hope you enjoy this
festival, and we welcome your suggestions to make it even better next
year! Be sure to fill out one of our survey forms at the festival
hospitality booth.
WELCOME
TO THE BIG HORNS!!!
