We hope you joined us for the 6th Annual
Big Horn Mountain Festival on July 9, 10, and 11, 2010, at the Johnson County
Fairgrounds! We had a great lineup this
year with lots of campground
and parkin’ lot picken’.
If you did join us this year, we'd like you to take our survey about the festival and share your thoughts on how we can improve it and the bands you would like to see in the future.
This
website is the
source for information about the festival, so be sure
and check back here often to keep up with the latest news about all the
activities, happenings, and plans. We also
update Facebook when something is updated
on the website.
We had a fantastic line up for this year including The
Grascals, The
Steep Canyon Rangers, The Wiyos,
The
Jalan
Crossland Band, Anne
&
Pete Sibley,
and D.
Michael
Thomas.
Check
out their bios in Bands.
There
was lots of
fun in 2010, including the Wyoming
Mandolin and Banjo Championships, an Old
Time
Fiddle Contest, and a Guitar
contest too, with the winners
of the mandolin, banjo, and fiddle contest all winning guaranteed slots at
the Walnut
Valley Festival contests in Winfield,
Kansas. The Band Scramble was entertaining as always, and
there were a variety of workshops hosted by our performers. There were instruments
raffled
off (including a very nice Weber Gallatin F mandolin), food and craft vendors, a
pancake
breakfast, great folks, and lots of jamming. It all added up
to a
super time.
Each year, the
beautiful Big Horn
Mountains frame the festival at the
Johnson County Fairgrounds where you will enjoy the true festival
experience. Bring your tent, camper, or RV and spend the
entire weekend
with us and enjoy some of the best parkin' lot pickin' in the Rocky
Mountains.
Visit Camping
&
Lodging to learn more about camping or to locate one
of the
area motels. The Buffalo Wild Bunch will be back cooking up a
storm and there
will be many other food vendors on the festival grounds.
Check out the Venue
for general information and directions to the Fairgrounds, the pancake
breakfast, and more. When available, you will be able to buy tickets
online
or from local outlets listed on the tickets page.
If
you want to
volunteer in exchange for a day
or weekend ticket, fill out an online application and learn more about
how you
can help in the volunteer
section. Information and an application form are also
available if you
are interested in being a festival vendor.
Of
course, our festival wouldn't happen without our generous sponsors
and we encourage you to patronize their businesses or become a sponsor
yourself.
